The Las Vegas Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until at least 2037 after the sport agreed a new 10-year extension, cementing the event’s place as one of the most important races in modern Formula 1.
Formula 1 has officially confirmed that it will continue racing on the iconic streets of Las Vegas through 2037, extending its presence in one of the world’s most vibrant sports and entertainment destinations for another decade.
The long-term agreement between Formula 1, Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc., Clark County officials, and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) underlines the extraordinary success of the event since its debut in 2023 and reinforces Formula 1’s growing commitment to the United States market.
Since joining the calendar, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has rapidly evolved into one of Formula 1’s most recognisable and commercially successful events. Between 2023 and 2025, the race generated a cumulative economic impact of more than $3.2 billion for Southern Nevada, while all three editions sold out, attracting fans, celebrities, business leaders, and global media from around the world.
In 2025 alone, the event produced $43 million in state and local tax revenue, including $15 million directed toward local K-12 education programs. Beyond the economic benefits, the Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation has contributed more than $2 million to local nonprofit organisations, while creating educational opportunities for hundreds of students throughout Clark County.
A New Era of Grand Prix Entertainment
Set against the dazzling backdrop of the Las Vegas Strip, the race has redefined the Formula 1 event experience in North America. Combining world-class motorsport with luxury hospitality, entertainment, nightlife, and corporate networking, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has become a showcase for Formula 1’s transformation into a global lifestyle and entertainment platform.
The 3.8-mile (6.2 km) Las Vegas Strip Circuit sees drivers reach speeds exceeding 200 mph (322 km/h) while racing past some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Wynn Las Vegas, and The Venetian Resort.
The event’s global profile was further elevated after featuring prominently in F1® The Movie, helping introduce the spectacle of Formula 1 and Las Vegas to an even broader audience worldwide.
Growing Legacy on Track
The race has already delivered memorable moments on the track. Max Verstappen claimed victory in the inaugural 2023 event before winning again in 2025, while George Russell secured victory in 2024 during a race that featured an impressive 113 overtakes. That same weekend, Verstappen clinched his fourth consecutive FIA Formula One World Championship.
Las Vegas has also become an important stage for the next generation of racing talent, with Doriane Pin securing the F1 Academy title during the 2025 race weekend.
More Than a Race Weekend
A major component of the event’s long-term vision is Grand Prix Plaza, the 39-acre multi-use complex that serves as the world’s largest Formula 1 attraction. The facility operates year-round as a destination for fans, educational programs, and community engagement initiatives, helping connect motorsport with STEM education and career development opportunities.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix and Grand Prix Plaza were recently recognised at the 2026 Green Sports Alliance Summit for their leadership in sustainability and commitment to achieving a net-zero future.
Formula 1 Confirms Long-Term Commitment
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, welcomed the announcement as a significant milestone for the sport’s American expansion.
“We are thrilled that Formula 1 will continue racing in Las Vegas for many years to come. Since its debut in 2023, the event has been extraordinary, rapidly establishing itself as a premier destination for great racing, world-class entertainment, global business leaders, A-list celebrities and influencers.
“We always believed that Las Vegas would become a cornerstone of our presence in the United States, and this extension reinforces our long-term commitment to this important market.”
Emily Prazer, President and CEO of Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc., described the extension as a defining moment for the event.
“Securing a 10-year extension through 2037 is a defining moment for the Las Vegas Grand Prix and a reflection of the strength of our local partnerships.
“Las Vegas is unlike anywhere else in the world, and its energy, hospitality and scale have played a major role in shaping what this race has become. This long-term extension allows us to continue delivering a world-class experience for our fans.”
Steve Hill, President and CEO of the LVCVA, added that the race has already become a cornerstone of the city’s global sporting identity.
“In just three years, the race has become a signature global event, putting Las Vegas at the centre of culture, competition and entertainment during race week.
“Built for spectacle and designed to host the world’s biggest moments, Las Vegas is proud to continue this dynamic partnership with Formula 1 for the next decade and beyond.”

With its future now secured through 2037, the Las Vegas Grand Prix is set to remain one of Formula 1’s most prestigious destinations, combining elite motorsport, luxury hospitality, entertainment, and business networking on a scale few sporting events can match.
As Formula 1 continues its remarkable growth across North America, Las Vegas appears destined to remain one of the championship’s brightest lights for years to come.
