Audi Nuvolari1: A 1,001-PS Supercar Signals a New Era for Audi

Audi has unveiled the Nuvolari1, a groundbreaking supercar that represents one of the most significant technological milestones in the company’s modern history. Combining Formula 1-inspired innovation, cutting-edge hybrid technology, and a bold new design language, the limited-production model serves as a statement of intent as Audi accelerates its transformation into the electrified era.

Limited to just 499 examples worldwide, the Audi Nuvolari1 delivers an astonishing 1,001 PS and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h, making it the fastest and most powerful production vehicle ever to wear the four rings.

The unveiling comes at a pivotal moment for Audi. Following the introduction of its new design philosophy and its highly anticipated entry into Formula 1 as the Audi Revolut F1 Team, the Nuvolari1 emerges as the technological flagship of the brand’s next chapter.

“The Audi Nuvolari1 brings pure emotion and performance to the road. It also reveals how we are taking ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ into a new era,” said Audi CEO Gernot Döllner.

Formula 1 Technology Meets Road-Legal Performance

At the heart of the Nuvolari1 lies Audi’s first-ever high-performance hybrid supercar powertrain. Developed with a relentless focus on speed, efficiency and driving dynamics, the vehicle integrates several innovations inspired by modern Formula 1 engineering.

Among the headline technologies are active aerodynamics, the next-generation Audi Space Frame featuring carbon-fibre exterior construction, and the revolutionary quattro predictive ride system.

According to Audi CTO Rouven Mohr, the Nuvolari1 establishes a new benchmark for the brand.

“The Audi Nuvolari1 is the first supercar from Audi with a high-performance hybrid powertrain and sets a new benchmark for performance, driving dynamics and efficiency. My personal highlights are the powertrain, active aerodynamics and the world-first quattro predictive ride.”

The new system continuously analyses highly precise sensor data to anticipate traction changes before they occur, proactively coordinating power delivery, braking, torque distribution and aerodynamic settings in real time.

Inspired by a Motorsport Legend

The Nuvolari1 takes its name from legendary Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari, one of motorsport’s most revered figures. Renowned for his fearlessness, technical understanding and relentless determination, Nuvolari remains an enduring symbol of racing excellence.

Audi believes those same qualities are embodied in the new supercar.

The vehicle was developed through an intensive international collaboration programme and has already undergone extensive testing, including evaluations at Italy’s Nardò proving ground.

Audi Revolut F1 Team drivers Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto participated in testing and attended the prototype’s unveiling on the Côte d’Azur ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

Hülkenberg praised the car’s overall balance and responsiveness, while Bortoleto highlighted its neutral handling characteristics and seamless integration of aerodynamic and torque-vectoring systems.

The First Expression of Audi’s New Design Philosophy

Beyond performance, the Nuvolari1 introduces Audi’s next-generation design identity.

Created under the direction of Chief Creative Officer Massimo Frascella, the car embraces a philosophy known internally as “The Radical Next.” The design features taut surfaces, precise lines and a powerful monolithic stance, with every element serving a specific functional purpose.

The new Vertical Frame front-end treatment debuts on a hybrid Audi model for the first time, while the cockpit has been engineered around clarity, focus and driver engagement.

“Technology never exists for its own sake. It is always a means to an end. And that end must be emotion,” said Frascella.

Exclusivity at the Highest Level

Audi is positioning the Nuvolari1 as a halo model for collectors and enthusiasts seeking more than traditional performance metrics.

“The Audi Nuvolari1 stands for exclusivity, performance and ultimate desirability,” said Marco Schubert, Audi Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “With this model, we are making a deliberate move into the high-performance segment and staking Audi’s claim to be the most desirable premium automotive brand.”

Production will be strictly limited to 499 units, with deliveries scheduled to begin during the first half of 2027. European pre-orders are expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, although prospective customers can already register their interest.

A Statement of Audi’s Future

More than a supercar, the Nuvolari1 serves as a rolling showcase of Audi’s future direction. It demonstrates how the company intends to merge electrification, performance, advanced software, Formula 1 technology and emotional design into a new generation of vehicles.

As Audi prepares to enter the Formula 1 grid, the Nuvolari1 provides perhaps the clearest indication yet of how the brand plans to translate racing innovation into road-going reality.

With 1,001 PS, Formula 1-derived technologies and a striking new design language, the Audi Nuvolari1 is not merely Audi’s fastest car ever — it is a bold declaration of where the brand is heading next.
